History and Heritage

Listening Transcript

Let’s talk about history and heritage – they’re really important to all of us. History helps us remember and understand things that happened way back, and all the people who were part of it. Heritage, now that’s all about what we’ve inherited from our parents, grandparents, and so on. Think old buildings and traditions that have been around for ages. Some cities are chock-full of history and heritage. Rome, Athens, and Paris, for example. People travel to these places just to see the old buildings and learn about what happened there long ago. In schools, we get to learn history from our books and teachers. We also learn how important it is to protect and cherish our heritage. Why do we care about all this? Well, history and heritage help us know ourselves better and understand where we’ve come from.
