Environment and Sustainability

Listening Transcript

So, what’s the environment? It’s everything around us – the trees, the animals, the air we breathe, the water we drink. Now, when we talk about sustainability, we’re talking about taking care of our environment so it stays healthy for a long time. How can we do that? Well, there are lots of ways. We can recycle things like paper and plastic – that means we use them more than once instead of creating new stuff. This helps save our trees and cuts down on waste. Saving energy is another great step. Just turn off the lights when you don’t need them. Doing this cuts down on pollution from power plants. Saving water is also super important. Quick showers and turning off the tap can help a lot because clean water isn’t always easy to find. Planting trees and making gardens can help too. They give homes to birds and bugs and clean up the air. So, caring for the environment? It’s important for everyone. It keeps us healthy and makes the world a better place to live.
